This is perhaps the most important question in the polling board, it will dictate a lot of what goes on in the forum.
This style of RP deals less with "systems" and more about just roleplaying and having a good time.
Pros:
Cons:
This style is more about systems and using a character's actions to determine what they are allowed to have.
Pros:
Cons:
The style chosen in this vote will be the style used on the forum. In the case of Regulated, I may put in a skeletal framework for roleplay to be going while the other stuff is implemented piece by piece.
Freeform
This style of RP deals less with "systems" and more about just roleplaying and having a good time.
Pros:
- With this, you can easily configure your character to be anything you want them to be. Whether they be better with magic or weapons, or a mixture of both.
- There is less work on the part of the staff.
- Characters will be able to get right into the swing of things.
Cons:
- There is little to distinguish between long-term and short-term members. Everyone would have access to mostly everything, and there are no special benefits for being a skilled or faithful member.
- Characters become less unique when they don't have to work for their possessions.
- Those more serious about RP may enjoy this, but then be disgruntled by the newbie that comes in and gets everything they have.
Regulated
This style is more about systems and using a character's actions to determine what they are allowed to have.
Pros:
- With this style, we can differentiate between new players and old players, allowing the long-term members to get more out of the forum.
- Every character is more unique, because they have access to different things, which they have earned through roleplaying here.
- It gives members a sense of achievement when they do something.
Cons:
- It's a bit more work on the staff to keep everything running smoothly.
- It will take a bit more time to get setup.
- Some might not approve, due to wishing to be handed everything and not having to work for it.
The style chosen in this vote will be the style used on the forum. In the case of Regulated, I may put in a skeletal framework for roleplay to be going while the other stuff is implemented piece by piece.
