It has been 25 years since trouble brewed around Skyworld. The ageless Goddess of Light and her child like champion watched over the Earth to ensure that both Medusa and other threats would not come to the world and its inhabitants. 25 years of peace…25, but peace did not last long. Medusa, Goddess of Darkness and her Underworld army decided to attack the Earth causing Palutena to send her champion, Pit to defend the world. He was able to beat back the evil once again and return peace, but shortly after this Pit was sent to yet another battle even greater than the one he fought with Medusa. Aiding heroes from many different worlds, the young warrior was able to help put a stop to Taboo and his insane plans of world destruction. Yes, the young warrior had become quite the star after that battle was won.
People seemed to respect him more and some of the other younger angels didn’t pick on him as much due to his inability to fly. Life was nice and relaxing as the young warrior performed his duties and protected his land…that was until something odd happened. Pit was on patrol in his world, walking the beautiful streets of the land he lived in when he noticed an Underworld enemy in the area causing trouble. On instinct, he went to take care of the problem; however, after defeating the enemy it disappeared in shards of strange white light. Confused by this, Pit went to report what he saw to Palutena.
Upon hearing the report, Palutena became worried. Granting him a divine bow as a weapon and five minutes of flight, she order Pit to scout the world below for clues to the mysterious and hostile white light. Nodding, Pit had left his world to perform his task. Things were going well for the first 2 minutes that the young angel flew through the area searching for clues; however, as he neared some mountains a strange bird like creature made of crystals appeared out of a strange portal and attacked him. While Pit did his best to fight off the crystal bird, it did manage to injure him before it shattered, raining down crystal shards upon the world below. Injured and feeling drained, Pit managed to get past the mountains and relatively close to the ground before he could fly no more and fell into a strange portal similar to the one the bird had come out of. The portal threw him into a new place that he did not have time to observe as his body met the solid ground, his world went black.
Pit didn’t know how long he was out, but when he woke up, he was under a large tree with bright green leaves on it. As his blue eyes adjusted to the light, he did his best to take in the rest of the place. A huge open field for miles to see…. The mountains were in the distance….this place…it was making no sense to the angel’s ponding head. Disoriented, Pit sat up wincing at the pounding in his head and the pain in his wing . On instinct, he turned to look at the damage done to the wing only to be shocked that the wing had been bandaged up and that was not all. His other wounds had been wrapped up too and even the tears in his clothing had been mended.
Wondering who had helped him, he looked around the area once more, but besides the birds and the river that trickled near the tree, nobody was around. So instead of thanking a person or thing, he thanked whatever spirit watched over the place for the help he had gained before getting to his feet and dusting himself off. Looking around the area, he moved carefully out into the field still trying to understand where he was, but still there was nothing familiar to him at all. There were no familiar Greek style buildings or even a trace of a city. Everything here was open and nature oriented. It was a place that was relaxing…or at least would’ve been if Pit wasn’t concerned about this strange turn of events.
“Palutena, where am I?” he whispered hoping that the goddess knew more about this place than he did. He had expected a telepathic reply back, but when he didn’t get one, his worry increased.
“Paluntena?” he whispered as he looked up at the sky searching for a sign that she was there. No reply…no sign. Did that mean he was alone? If that was the case, then how was he going to get back home? Panic began to flood, but before it got too far, he closed his eyes and took a deep breath to steady himself. This was no time to panic, he’d just have to figure out a way to find out where he was and if Palutena was alright. Praying that wherever she was, the goddess was safe, Pit began to travel the field in search of people who may be able to fill him in on what was going on.
