Work:
When posting something for a job name the thread [character’s name]’s Work and then put something like this:
[character’s name] is attempting to make 2 common swords (or 2 pies). (for making items and food)
[character’s name] is working 1 hour. (for jobs that use hours instead)
[character’s name] has planted [name of Seeds) and is attempting to grow it. (for farmers)
[character’s name] is attempting to collect (eggs, milk, wool, animal hides). (for farmers and ranch workers)
After it has been posted, you must wait for the staff to either say you succeed or failed in the attempt. When you fail you get a message like.
[character’s name] has fail to make (grow, or collect) (name of item or thing). You get nothing for your hard work.
For people that make items or food, you must have the materials to even make them. When you fail you get nothing for your hard work and lose the materials used causing you to have to start over or wait until next week if you have used up the amount of items that can be made that week. Also, you don’t get any experience when you fail.
Those that have hours can fail also due to weather or something else that happens in the area. The only thing lost here are the experience points not gained. The same applies to ranch workers trying to collect. Sometimes you simply cannot collect because there is nothing to collect. Again only experience is lost.
For farmers that plant things. There is a chance, depending on weather and season that you’re your plants may not grow or your seeds get washed away. Sometimes this has you start over, but just like with items, sometimes the seeds can be saved and some plants can grow. You can plant two types of plants each week. When you fail, you lose all seeds and the experience points aren’t given.
When you succeed: You get a message like this.
[character’s name] has succeeded to make (grow, or collect) (name of item or thing). You get your items and experience points for it.
For items you get the items you created.
For farming you get some produce from the two or one type of seed you planted. You can always attempt to take care of what is already grown to get things from them if caring for it is successful or you can start anew with new seeds. Keep in mind, grown things that are neglected will die after 1 month of neglect.
For collecting you get the two items or one type of item you were trying to collect. You can then sell them at the market or make food out of them. Note, that even though some jobs can collect and make food items, the thing collected or made acts as a replacement for hours or items that can be made that week.. Also keep in mind you can only attempt to do something as many times as your job level says you can weekly.
Hunting and fishing are included with these attempts and written out in much the same fashion as a work post the only difference is a location is added.
Example: [character’s name] attempts to fish or hunt at [name of place].
Depending on the area, weather, and season determines what you may or may not get.
Keep in mind you can’t sell/trade the items until they appear on your character sheet. Items successful made are added to your character sheets under items with a sale/trade or cannot be sold/traded tag next to it. If there is no tag, ask staff about it before trying to sell or trade it.
Also, while working you’ll sometimes find odd materials or parts as you go along and might gain them as extra; however, the chances of this are 50/50. You might have better chances with rewards from sidequests and hunts.
Purchasing: [/u]
To purchase something, simply post a thread named [character’s name]’s purchases then write something like:
[character’s name] is purchasing:
List your items with rupee cost. Don’t try to cheat because you’ll be get into trouble when caught. Include discounts in price IF they apply to your character.
A staff member will look over this and approve it before removing rupees and adding the items to your character sheet. Remember: you cannot use items unless they are on the character sheet.
Sales/Trades:[/u]
If you are selling or trading items, they must be listed on your character sheet otherwise you don’t have it. Also, they must have a sale/trade tag next to them in order for them to be used. Also customized, upgraded, and enchanted items cannot be sold or traded.
When you are selling, this means you are selling to the market (a NPC). When you sell your items to the market make a thread naming it [character’s name] Sells... then post something like this.
[character’s name] is selling (item and amount you are selling) to the market.
Once this is posted a staff member will review and give you rupees. Depending on the quality of the thing being sold determines how many rupees you get. The lower the quality the smaller amount you get.
Trades/Negotiations/Customizations:[/u]
Whether you are doing this with a member or a NPC, it must be done in a thread watched over by the staff for fairness and also to settle any disputes that may come up.
If you are wanting to negotiate with npcs or members, name your thread: [Character’s name] Negotiation (Customization or Trade) Request then follow it up with.
Requesting negotiation (customization or trade) with (name of shop for npcs that are general, npc’s name (if they have one), or mercenary for an npc mercenary or (the member’s or members names). Keep in mind that negotiations are for mercenaries only. Do not confuse this with trades.
A staff member will review it and then create a thread where the parties involved can talk about trade, negotiation, or customizations. Depending on fair play (meaning how many times a staff member has to interfere) and how the thread goes determine if you are successful or not.
If you are warned three times within a thread by staff for doing something wrong , you automatically fail and the thread is closed and both go away empty handed.
If you are successful, you will successful trade, make a negotiation, or get a customization. Negotiations are completed only after a mercenary has successfully passed or failed the request. If a mercenary fails, he gets nothing and the deal is off and the item or rupees that were agreed remain with the person that made the request, but if they succeed then they get the reward agreed upon. So don’t go parting with something you don’t want to give up because once a negotiation has been made the items or rupee amount is locked and cannot be sold until after the mercenary performs the duty.
You’ll know the outcome of trades and such for at the bottom staff will list the outcome. Staff also list the outcome of missions for mercenaries so no one is confused with success or failure. Be fair and there will be no trouble. Don’t try to control NPC unless given permission to do so by the staff. Outside of this NPCs are staff run.
