Threads:[/u]
Okay. There are a few extra things you need to know before roleplaying. Yes. I know it is a lot to take in, but it will make this place so much easier to roleplay in if you read this.
When you are in a thread and wish to leave, make your post and then put [Your character’s Name] has exited the thread at the bottom of the post in bold. The last person to leave does something similar to this, but instead at the bottom of their last post puts: [Your character’s Name] has exited the thread and this thread has ended. We ask you to this so ended threads can moved to archives and the boards can remain clutter free. Your cooperation is appreciated.
You can’t roleplay alone, so do not get impatient and double post. Doing so will result in two warnings before the thread is deleted. The point of this forum is to play with others not alone. So please don’t do this as it can ruin the fun for others.
Another thing to note with threads are tags which follow the title of the thread.
Example: Training Days (Open). Open is a tag. Different tags mean different things so hear is what to watch out for.
Open:[This means anyone can join the thread, so no whining if someone comes in there you don’t want in there. If there is no tag, then it is assumed that the thread is an Open one. If you see something like (charcter name/open) this means that the character listed was invited and should appear in the thread. Since it is open people can still join)
Closed: If a thread simply says closed this is between the a staff member and the member. These can be sidequest or dungeons or certain events or plotlines (stories for their characters) that members don’t want anyone else to be involved with, except staff (can’t roleplay alone). These can also be between members and sometimes appear as: (character Name/Closed). It means only those named are welcomed.
Sidequest that members request can have any of the tags just let the staff member know so this can be added when the staff sets things up for you.
Invite Only or (Character Name/Character Name) or (Character Name/Invite): These work similar to closed meaning that the members have already spoken with each other and agreed upon doing this thread. The only way to enter is to send a personal message to those involved asking if you can come in. If they say yes, then you are welcomed to join it otherwise do not enter.
Sidequests/Hunts/Dungeons:
Whether you find them on a board or heard it from an NPC, sidequests (requested and pre-made), hunts (requested or pre-made), and dungeons are ran by staff. Most of time there are requirements for these sort of events (with the exception of requests which can then be altered to the members liking) to perform them and be successful at it. Regardless of what it is, the staff has full control of what is going on: meaning what you encounter, control over creatures and bosses, the way the dungeon is laid out, etc. Depending on your performance depends on how successful you are. Don’t spam attacks or spells, it’ll get you in trouble both with the situation and the staff.
Things that are requested are still controlled by the staff. We simply try to tweak the event so that is more like what you wanted to make the experience enjoyable. Outside of these dungeons, sidequest, or hunts you can create scenarios where your character encounters enemies in the field, but you cannot play out the events unless a staff NPC or another member is threading with you.
Also, you must post at least three paragraphs for a post. Anything less is not accepted.
Weather and Blocked Areas:
DO NOT IGNORE THIS BOARD! The weather board is more important than you think. Depending on the season and weather determines what will flourish or what may come out into the fields. It is always wise to check this board weekly both for reports and also for blocked areas. Blocked areas are marked by the block off name to the side of their names. You can roleplay in these areas, but the danger and what may be encountered in these areas are far from normal. Like dungeons, sidequests, and hunts blocked areas are controlled by the staff, so if you open a thread in these areas. Something from the staff will come regardless if it is open or not. This is the only time a tag will not work to keep staff npcs or creatures out.
Abilities:[/u]
Canon characters can start off with their main abilities from the game. If you are playing an original character you can start off with three abilities. I don’t require cooldowns for attacks, but I expect you to play with what you have fairly. No godmoding or spamming the abilities. If you do this, actions of some sort will be taken. Give people a chance to respond and attack back. If godmoding and spamming becomes an issue, I’ll request cooldowns on powers and restrict how many attacks can be dealt in one post. The point of this forum is to have fun, so please don’t ruin it by playing unfairly. Abilities are placed on your character sheet. Like with items on the character sheets, if the ability is not on your character’s sheet it cannot be used.
With spellcasters, you start with basic magic and then work your way up from there. For every 50 posts you make (for level 1-25) you can go to the Old Lady in the desert’s library to gain an extra powers or them up level up. After level 25 you’ll need 100 posts to upgrade your character. Keep in mind this has a rupee cost and the woman will turn you away if you do not have the post and rupee requirement.

This tells how healthy your character is. It changes depending on if an enemy injures you or cause some other status alignment. Also, during weather changes some characters will get chosen randomly to become sick. If you have a problem with this let staff know. Only rest, sometimes potions, or a hospital can help. Usually the cure to the status problem is listed off to the side. So keep an eye on your character sheet, so you know if your character is okay or not. Also, keep in mind random effects can be caused by characters being underprepared in an area. We will not kill characters without permission, but some things can bring you very close to death if you are not careful.
