Mounts:
There are four types of mounts that are given out for free when you start your character. You can only chose ONE at the beginning. For Hylians, Gerudo, and Sheikah you have:
Horses: Horse are great for traveling around the fields and forests; however, they don’t do well in the desert and have the tendency to tire faster in the extreme heat. They can cross rivers that are shallow enough for them to walk or slightly swim across. Do not try taking them across the lake or in deep water without a boat because they will drown.
Loftwings: These giant birds are masters of flight. They are able to take you a lot further than a horse could and can cross over river and lakes with no problem; however, due to their size they will not go into forests or other small areas that they may get stuck in (such as a cave). Also these creatures are very awkward on land, making them extremely clumsy if they have to walk. Also like the horse they will drown in deep water. Normal Loft wings tire in the desert.
Camels: These tall elegant creatures are similar to the horses, but instead are designed to take on the harsh weather of the deserts. They can get you further in the desert than a horse or Loftwing; however, their moody attitude makes them hard to handle and they have the tendency to want to rest or lounge outside of their desert homes, making traveling outside a desert a lot longer than if you had a horse or Loftwing.
Aquatic Mounts: These specialized mounts are specifically for Zoras. It can be any type of aquatic creature that lives in lakes or rivers. These creatures are restricted in the fashion that they cannot travel too far without water, they are slower on land, and they cannot enter places such as deserts or icy areas due to the extreme cold and heat that can kill them. Please keep their designs within reason.
Jobs[/u]
Here are a list of jobs that are available. Each job has a set amount of money it pays and experience it requires for you to go up to the next level. Each time your level increases the amount of money gained increases and also the amount of experience needed increases. Regardless of where you work all jobs are done in the Marketplace’s work station. The more work you do the more likely you’ll be rewarded for your hard work (see shops for where discounts are handed out to and to whom). Some jobs allow selling of items while others don’t, make sure to read each job careful and also make sure you read the Trade Broad rules before attempting to sale items.
All job leveling, pay, and discounts follows the pattern below. The only exception to the rule is the Mercenary Role.
Novice: You start off with simple materials such as wood, cloth, stone, and weak metals. You can attempt to make 2 items per week and you need to make 50 items to get to the next level. The chances of messing up are high. At the end of the month you are paid 100 rupees.
Common Worker: You can now use materials such as stronger metals and more resilient cloth to make your items. You can attempt to make 4 items a week and need to make 100 items to get to the next level. The chances of messing up are lowered slightly. At the end of the month you are paid 150.
Apprentice: You can now use even stronger metals and even jewels and other precious stones in your work. You can attempt to make 6 items a week and you need to make 150 items to make it to the next level. The chances of messing up are 50/50. At the end of the month, you are paid 200.
Master: No material is too difficult for you to work with. You can attempt make up to 10 items per week, but you do not get any more experience since you are a master. The chances of messing up is low. At the end of the month you are paid 300 rupees. Also being a master you can take request from member to build weapons for them; however, they must provide you the materials and rupees. Again you can only attempt to make these items and they can only be made after being approved.
You can get an second job, but will only be paid half of what the original pays for each level; however, you cannot take on a second job until you have reached 100 posts. Below are list of the jobs here on the boards. If you have suggestions for more jobs please let the staff know.
Blacksmith: Blacksmiths are hard workers that specializes in turning metals and other materials into weapons and armors for people to buy and wear These items can then be sold on the market for rupees. Take note that a blacksmith cannot upgrade weapons or armor.
Gun Specialist: Gun specialist specialize in making simple rifles and guns for the people of New Hyrule. Gun Specialist are the only job class that can actually fix guns that have been broken or jammed. They are also the only class that can upgrade guns if the materials are provided to them or found. Like the black smith they can sell their items to the market or members.
Potion Maker: Also known as Alchemist, this job class specializes in making a variety of potions from plants and bugs. They are the only job class that can upgrade potions to make them stronger or give them a different effect if the materials are found or provided to them. Also they can sell potions made on the market or to members.
Mechanic: These guys specialize in building airships, boats, wagons, plus any other vehicles out there. This is the only class that can upgrade vehicles if the materials are provided to them or found, or fix them. They can sell their vehicles to members or the market.
Tinker or Enchanter: These guys specialize in upgrading items. Tinkers make physical changes to an item when given the right materials. Since they are being paid they cannot charge for anything except custom made items. If an item is custom made, it must be presented in the Workplace board so staff can review it before being accepted.
Enchanters follow the same rules. The only thing different is that enchanters only magically enhanced the items by using specialized stones. You can only choose one of these jobs at a time. Also this class cannot sell items
Ranch Worker, Farmer, or Hunters: You can only choose one of these jobs at a time. Ranch workers help around the ranches taking care of animals and doing chores. Instead of making items, they level up by hours (so replace item amounts with hour amounts for leveling). They also cannot sale items.
Farmers work out in the field and must first plant seeds in order for their crops to grow (by attempting to grow them in the work place) if successful they can get fruits and vegetables depending on the seed planted. They also take care of livestock and produce things such as milk, cheese, eggs, and fresh fruits and veggies. Their products rely heavily on the weather and season, so keep an eye on the weather boards.
Hunters: Whether it is fishing or actually hunting down an animal for furs, a hunter must first put their attempt at hunting on the workplace board. If successful items gained can be sold or used by the hunter, who can make clothing and food dishes from the creatures they kill or capture.
Merchants: Merchants are a special class that can sell items that have been bought or found along their journey. This is this class does not make items and levels up by hours instead. They can only sell items that their character has on them (check character sheets). They are also the only class that can own their own shops.
Assistants: The Fishing Pond, Cemetery, Fast Travel Spots, and Rental Spots are always looking for helpers to help out with things. Like the Ranch Workers and Merchants, this class does not make items. Also, this class cannot sell items. Like the ranch worker they are only paid a flat rate and they level up by hours spent working instead of items successfully made or grown.
Mercenaries (work for hire): Mercenaries are the only job class that does not level up. Instead, they are paid a constant rate of 150 rupees per month gaining extras from sidequests, hunts and jobs they take on for NPCs. They can do jobs for member, but a thread must be made where the group negotiate the terms in the Marketplace Work Area. When done the thread is reviewed by the staff for fairness and then approved, setting whatever job and reward that was agreed upon for the mercenary. If one fails the job they lose job along with any reward offered. The job can be reoffered or given to another if everything stays the same. If the terms change another thread must be created for review. Also, depending on the character level determines what can or cannot be done by the mercenary.
